Happy Hour will last from 6-8pm, with light bites, beer and water, and a short presentation of our 2017 Winners!
2017 marks the 11th Anniversary of the CANstruction® Philadelphia event to benefit Philabundance and help drive hunger from our communities. As we embark on a new decade of CANstruction® Philadelphia, we are switching things up, and bringing our event to a new venue, 990 Spring Garden! Within this “Environment for Ideas” we are taking over one of the first floor gallery spaces to host our exhibit from April 1-10, 2017, where our teams will build structures around the theme of “Art.”
Each year, the Philadelphia Emerging Architects Committee of AIA Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Center for Architecture and Design invite Philadelphia’s leading architects, engineers, contractors, design firms and schools of design to participate in this unique effort. CANstruction® offers our design community the opportunity to publicly exhibit our imagination and creativity while also demonstrating our concern for the less fortunate members of our community, and serve as a catalyst for positive change in our own backyard.
In the last 10 years, CANstruction® Philadelphia has raised over 350,000 lbs of food and over $50,000 for those in need in our local communities through Philabundance, the Delaware Valley’s largest hunger relief organization!!!
Wherever a CANstruction® competition is held, thousands of hungry people are fed, an awareness of the issues surrounding hunger are highlighted publicly, and a spotlight is placed on the design and construction industry as we give back to the communities that we help to build. CANstruction® is one competition where everyone wins! We hope that you will rise to meet our challenge to “CANstruct a World without Hunger.” Together, we CAN erase hunger, one CAN at a time!
