ABOUT ABOUT

Ideal for ages 5-8
Coppernickel the bird and Tungsten the dog set out to invent a machine for picking hard-to-reach elderberries. As they begin to sketch their inventions on sheets of paper, Coppernickel's illustrations rapidly take over the walls and the floor, while the dog's sheet remains relatively blank. Look out, Coppernickel - you'll get tangled in your own complicated invention! Join us for a reading of Wouter van Reek's modern classic about the power of simplicity, Coppernickel: The Invention. Then design your own simple machine to help around the house.

Presented in conjunction with our Constructing Play exhibition.

About Read + Make Workshops
Explore the world of architecture + design with your 5-8yo child at these fun family workshops! Featuring a reading of a creative tale, your child (with your assistance) will make a project which solves a design challenge related to the reading. A great introduction for young minds to the career opportunities available in the fields of architecture, design, and construction. Workshops are limited to 24 participants each.

Have an older child? Check out our Design + Build Workshops!
