Join the Center for Architecture and Design for our 34th Louis I. Kahn Award, honoring the firm Diller Scofidio + Renfro (DS+R). At the ceremony, principals from the firm will discuss in depth their innovative designs, their inspirations, and their motivations. This event is a fantastic way to learn about the design process architects use to shape the world around us, from the most influential architects in the world. Founded in 1981, DS+R is a design studio whose practice spans the fields of architecture, urban design, installation art, multi-media performance, digital media, and print. With a focus on cultural and civic projects, DS+R’s work addresses the changing role of institutions and the future of cities. The studio is based in New York and is comprised of over 100 architects, designers, artists and researchers, led by four partners - Elizabeth Diller, Ricardo Scofidio, Charles Renfro, and Benjamin Gilmartin.
This annual event raises funds to support design education for children at the Charter High School for Architecture + Design and through the Architecture in Education program of the Center for Architecture and Design.
