ABOUT ABOUT

Please plan to join the AIA Philadelphia Housing Committee for our next Lunch and Learn event!

Performance Systems Development (PSD) has spent nine months collecting data on new home construction in eastern Pennsylvania, evaluating their findings against the International Energy Code.   Michael Turns, Senior Program Manager at PSD will be on hand to present and discuss their recent findings. What they have learned about energy strategies may surprise you.

This session will highlight areas for improvement based on field study results. Topics to be covered include:
•    Installation of above and below grade wall insulation;
•    Duct leakage;
•    High-efficacy lighting.

Plan to come out and learn about what’s working well, and what still needs work to improve the efficiency, comfort, durability, health, and safety of new homes in Pennsylvania.

The Lunch and Learn will also focus on why these issues are important and what strategies you can easily adopt for big improvements. In addition, you will learn about free Energy Code support materials, developed by the Penn Energy Codes Program, that are available for your use. Available documents include:
•    Plan Submittal Forms;
•    Checklists;
•    E-Code Assistant App.
